It started with a single plant — a Chocolate Habanero that took over a corner of the backyard and refused to quit. One harvest led to experimenting in the kitchen. One batch of sauce led to another. And somewhere between the smoke, the heat, and the obsession with getting the flavor just right, CP's X ½ Hot Sauce was born.
We're not a factory. We're not a corporation with a hot sauce division. We're one person, one backyard, and one relentless pursuit of the perfect burn.
Why Backyard-Grown Matters
Chocolate Habaneros grown in your own soil are a different animal. You control the conditions, you watch every plant, and you pick every pepper at exactly the right moment. There are no shortcuts, no pesticide trade-offs, no anonymous supplier. What goes into the bottle started ten feet from the back door — and I know exactly how it got there.
Seed to Bottle
Every batch begins in early spring when the seeds go into soil. Through the summer, the plants climb, flower, and slowly blush from green to deep mahogany brown. Come harvest, every pepper is hand-picked by me. From there it's blending, cooking down, and tasting — over and over — until the balance of fruity heat and depth is exactly right. Then it's bottled, labeled, and shipped.
No fillers. No shortcuts. Just peppers, time, and care.
Our supply is literally limited by what the backyard produces. When the harvest is done, that's it — until next season. That's not a marketing line; it's just how it works. Every bottle you get is part of a run that will never be exactly repeated.
Thanks for being here. We hope it's as good going on your food as it was coming out of the garden.
